TERMS & CONDITIONS

Orders

Once your order is confirmed you will receive a summary of your order (orders over £200 or wedding cake orders will be confirmed with an invoice). Please take the time to check your summary/invoice carefully.

If changes are required, please let us know as soon as possible. Changes to design/size may result in a change to the cost of the cake. Please give as much notice as possible if you need to make changes, as last minute changes cannot always be accommodated.

The ‘Cake Due Date’ on your invoice is the date that you will collect the cake (or for wedding cakes, the date of delivery). Please ensure this date is correct – we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate a change of event date after the order is confirmed.

All cakes are bespoke designs created to your specification. We will take inspiration from any photographs you provide to create our interpretation of your requirements. We will not create an exact reproduction of another cake maker’s work.

Retainer Fees

Orders are not confirmed until we have received a retainer fee (which is 50% of the order total).

Retainer fees are non-refundable.

Final Balance Payments

We are unable to start any work on your cake before receipt of your final balance.

Wedding cakes

50% of the order total is payable on the day of booking to confirm your date.

The final balance payment is due one month prior to the wedding date, either by cash, bank transfer or PayPal.

For wedding cake orders of less than four weeks' notice, the full payment is required on booking and is non-refundable.

Celebration cakes and cupcakes

50% of the order total is payable on the day of booking to confirm your date.

The final balance is due two weeks prior to the event date, either by cash, bank transfer or PayPal.

For celebration cake orders of less than two weeks' notice, the full payment is required on booking and is non-refundable.

Retainer fees are non-refundable.

Delivery of Wedding Cakes

Delivery is only available for Wedding Cakes. Delivery within a 15 mile radius of PR25 is free. Delivery over 15 miles is available but will incur an extra charge. Please ensure that you provide accurate details of the delivery address and arrange for someone to be there to check and sign for the cake. The One Who Bakes can take no responsibility for any damage that occurs after the cake has been delivered. We cannot be held responsible for orders once delivered.

Collection of Cakes

You will be provided with the collection address during the ordering process. A mutually agreeable time for collection will be arranged. Please ensure you collect your cake at the agreed time. If the cake is collected, the full responsibility for the safe transportation and storage of the cake is with the client. Cakes are best transported on a flat surface, preferably in the empty boot of a car. Do not transport your cake on the seat of a car as these surfaces are not flat and can cause damage to your cake. The One Who Bakes will not be responsible for any damage to the cake after collection.

Ingredients

Upon delivery/collection of your cake you will be given a cake advice label outlining any allergens, E numbers or inedible additions (such as inedible internal supports or inedible decorations).

All fruit cakes and carrot cakes contain nuts or traces of nuts.

As our cakes are made in a domestic kitchen that handles dairy, nuts and gluten, we are unable to guarantee that our cakes are free from any allergens.

Storage

Cakes should be kept in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, preferably in the box provided.

Fondant covered cakes should not be placed in the refrigerator or freezer as this may reduce the quality of the decoration.

Non-fruit cakes should be consumed within 3 days of delivery/collection. Fruit cakes may last longer than this if they are kept air tight. Cupcakes are best eaten on day of collection/delivery.
